Aside from trying your best to avoid potholes and random objects in the middle of the road, there are other ways to help protect the wheels on your RV.
Did you know the sun can cause wear on your tires? Yep! The sun can weaken the rubber and make your tire more vulnerable to bubbles and being punctured by objects you might not see in the road. Having a tire cover, like one of the ones we sell at RV Parts Canada, will help to protect your wheels when you aren't driving. So while you have your RV parked, put a cover on it! It's like sunscreen but for your wheels!
That also goes for spare tires. Most spare tires are kept on the outside of the vehicle--if this is the case for you, put an extra cover in your cart because you'll need it to keep your spare safe from the weather and other outside hazards. Covers on the spare tire will also help prevent small animals from crawling inside and chewing through or making nests.
And, just in case of a flat, it's good to have jacks in the storage of your RV so you can lift your RV and replace the tire with ease!
